Buffy Quote Meme
My entire friendslist has been swarmed with Buffy quotes. So, okay, here’s my favorite line of the series:
“Timothy Dalton should win an Oscar and beat Sean Connery over the head with it!”

This was funny the first time because of the outraged and sincere way Andrew says it, plus, dude, Timothy Dalton??? And it’s funnier now because after seeing most of the Bond films, Timothy Dalton surprised the hell out of me and might actually be my favorite Bond.
Second place would be the whole Spike/Joyce hot chocolate scene in “Lovers Walk”:

Spike: (interrupts) No, this is different. Our love was eternal. Literally. (calms down) You got any of those little marshmallows?

Timothy Dalton is one of the best Bonds, if not the best - most like the books I thought.
That’s a fabulous scene you picked too.

I really liked Dalton’s vulnerability. He gave Bond a rough edge but tempered it with more emotion than any of the Bonds before him. I really like Connery too, but in a totally different way; Connery’s like a cartoon, where as Dalton felt like a real person. (Craig is really good too, similar to Dalton, but I think I like Dalton better!)

That scene amuses me in particular not just because of the hilarity of an evil vampire getting along so well with a suburban mom, but because Joyce in that scene is a DEAD RINGER for my mom. Literally every word she says, my mom would’ve been saying in that situation.

I love Dalton and Connery in very different ways, but I’m definitely sympathetic to Andrew’s position. (And I think, hmm, Dalton and Craig are the only Bonds that aren’t really offensively sexist, as far as I can remember. Which is another point in Dalton’s favor! [Craig I like pretty well, but something’s off about him.])
